Cooking from Books - Molly Baz

Image
Hello hello! Today we're talking food again- specifically about cookbooks. I mentioned in my monthly goals that I've been going through a bit of a cooking slump and in order to get over that, I've been borrowing cookbooks from the library. Trying different cuisines and recipes from chefs always helps to inspire me, and I feel like I'm back in the cooking game! I'll be sharing a full day of eats from different cookbooks that I'm trying out, and today we're going to start out with Molly Baz's Cook This Book. I've been following Molly for a while and love her low-key approach to cooking. I knew this would be a fun cookbook and was definitely right! One of my favorite parts of this book is how interactive it is- there are QR codes sprinkled throughout which bring up videos to demonstrate some cooking techniques. I learned a lot from these and got to practice new skills and play with new flavors.  Here are some of the recipes I tried out along with my tho...

Cooking from Cookbooks : Vegan for Everybody

Image
Hi everyone and welcome back to another delicious post. In the past, I've shared about trying out recipes from different blogs (you can find all of the posts here ), and today we'll be slightly switching things up and cooking from a cookbook - Vegan for Everybody from America's Test Kitchen. My friend and fellow blogger Alexa lent me this book, and now I'm planning on purchasing it myself after trying out a few recipes! (PS- you can see her review of the book here ).  I absolutely loved this cookbook! Not only did it make cooking vegan seem approachable, but also had explanations of why  each recipe worked or why certain ingredients/steps were included. It helped to reignite my passion for cooking vegan food (which has been kind of waning in the past year with wanting to make more comfort food). I can't wait to buy this for myself and try out all the recipes. Here's a look at the recipes that I tried out for a full day of meals, along with my thoughts on each d...

Tasty Tuesday : Run Fast Eat Slow

I absolutely love trying out new cookbooks.  I'm always looking for new recipes to try out, so cracking open a new book full of delicious recipes and trying as many out as I possibly can is one of my favorite things.  I was especially excited to see that one of my favorite athletes and Olympic marathon Shalane Flanagan recently came out with her own book called Run Fast, Eat Slow which she co-authored with nutritionist (and runner) Elyse Kopecky.  These recipes promised to be clean, delicious, and perfect for runners. In order to really test out the book, I decided to try out one recipe from each chapter.  There were so many good recipes to try out, and a lot of them were either vegetarian or could easily be adapted to a vegan diet.  At the beginning of each recipe, there is a short note by the author, as well as what kind of workout the recipe is best suited for.  I'll be sharing the recipes that I tried out, along with some thoughts and overall grad...
