June Check-in

Happy half-way point of the year! Can you believe it? This year has been full of so many twists and turns, so I can't imagine what the end of the year will look like. I had a really fun month, so let's get into some highlights.

- I did two markets this month! One was at Boxyard RTP for their anniversary party and included a silent disco. Unfortunately, it started to pour about halfway through and we had to shut down, but the first half was great! My second market was at a local farm by my house for their blueberry festival. It was a really hot day so there wasn't a huge turnout, but I still enjoyed being there and meeting other local artists.

- Dan and I went to a concert we've been wanting to go to ever since we moved to North Carolina- the NC Symphony has a summer series at a local outdoor amphitheater with the most beautiful, wooded setting beside a lake. We brought along a picnic and met up with friends to enjoy Beethoven and Tchaikovsky! It was such a fun night.

- I also went to the Avril Lavigne concert with a friend. We the Kings and Simple Plan opened for the show and it was a lot of fun remembering all the songs I grew up listening to (along with some of her newer stuff!)

- I went on my very first cruise with two of my great friends from Pittsburgh. We try to get together every year for some kind of a trip and this year we decided a cruise was the best option. We were on the Celebrity Reflection and started in Fort Lauderdale, then headed to Key West and Bimini, Bahamas. It was the perfect trip and so much fun to see my friends.

- I turned 35! I'm not a huge birthday person, so I just decided to have my perfect day and invite friends along when it worked out. I started the day at Silent Book Club (my club meets Saturday mornings at a coffee shop), then grabbed some lunch at Fratelli's Deli and met up with friends at a local winery. At night, we went to dinner at Marian (a new plant-based fancy restaurant) and then went to jazz night with friends at Moon Room! We had one more drink at Vidrio before calling it a night. The next day, I got my second lobe piercing with a friend and had a late lunch at Postino, then saw the F1 movie! It was truly my ideal weekend.

- I watched a LOT of tennis. June is the perfect month because French Open and Wimbledon are happening. I love it and can't wait for the finals.

This month I did cross off one item on my 2025 goals- watch a movie solo. I decided to go to see The Materialists which was fine, but I decided that I'm not a solo movie person. I felt on edge the whole time and couldn't really relax and enjoy it. But- at least I tried!

How was your June?

How are you feeling about the year being halfway over?
