Pinterest Hack or Pinterest Wack?

Image
Happy Tuesday everyone!  It was so nice to have a few days off to just relax.  I pretty much didn't leave my bed all weekend, and I'm completely alright with that. Today I'm going to be joining in the Show and Tell Tuesday linkup with Momfessionals !  Today's topic is one of my favorites- testing Pinterest Pins.  I'm going to be attempting four different pins today- an outfit, hair style, makeup look, and recipe.  Cross your fingers for me- this could get messy.  Let's find out if these pins are hacks or completely wack! Outfit Outfit Source My outfit details - Sweater x Button Down x Pants x Boots I wanted to find a new way to wear my white button down to work, and I loved this pin!  I love the classic look of a crisp white button down shirt, but the only way I ever wore it was with basic blue jeans.  I liked how the pinned image paired it with a burgundy blazer and skinny black pants, so I used that as inspiration for my outfit....

Pinterest-Perfect Day

Image
Happy Thursday everyone!  Today is a great day, because I'm joining in Anne 's Pin to Present Linkup!  I have a fun post planned for today- one that I've been wanting to do for a while. What if we tried to live a Pinterest-Perfect day?  What would that look like and what would we think about it?  I wanted to find out!  Since I'll be trying something new out, of course I'm linking up with Jess ! You'll see in my post today that I had a few things out of the ordinary happen, so I wasn't able to completely pin-ify (did I just make that term up?) my day.  I did try out a few pins which I'll discuss.  I hope you enjoy a look into a day in my life, as well as see a few Pins in the Present!  Make sure you check out Anne's post for more Pinsperation, and check out Amanda to see what other people are thinking about today! 6:00 Wakeup and take Selma for a walk 6:15 Morning yoga sequence. I usually don't stretch or do yoga in the morning, so th...

Pinterest Beauty Hacks

Image
Happy Thursday!  Isn't this week flying by? Today I'm linking up with Anne in her monthly Pin to Present series (and Amanda for Thinking out Loud!).  I usually try out a recipe I found on Pinterest, but today I decided to switch it up a bit and test out some beauty hacks.  There are so many tips and tricks out there, and everything promises beautiful results in just minutes.  If I can re-vamp my beauty and hair routine and save time, I'm all in!  Today I'm testing out four pins- two for hair and two for makeup.  Keep reading to see if the pins were a yay or a big fat NAY! Hair The first pin I found promised a 1-minute longer, fuller ponytail.  The images made it look simple: just divide your hair in half horizontally and put each into a ponytail.  Easy, right? It turns out that this pin works!  I loved how the two pony tails made my hair look longer and gave it a nice layered look.  Next time I'll try this with curly ha...

Eat Around the World Challege : Greece

Image
Hi everyone!  I'm so excited to share my latest food challenge : Greece!  (If you missed my past challenges, check them out here and here !)  I'll also be linking up with Anne for her Pin To Present series as well, so check out what other people are trying out this month.  If you aren't following me on Pinterest yet, follow here ! I absolutely love Greek food, but have never tried to cook it.  In Pittsburgh, we have lots of Greek food festivals every year, as well as Greek vendors at the farmer's market in Market Square every Thursday.  The food always appealed to me because it features lots of fresh vegetables and bright flavors.  I was so excited to try out some recipes! First up is a recipe from a fellow Pittsburgh blogger : applesnkale .  Jenny was raving about her Greek Salad for a while, and I knew I had to try it out!  It turned out great and was a perfect spring/summer side dish.  I kept it in my fridge all week and had ...

Eat Around the World Challenge : France

Image
Hi everyone!  Today I have the second installment in my "Eat Around the World Challenge" (if you missed the first one, click here !).  Today, we'll be traveling to France.  This is another cuisine that I've never made before, and I actually haven't eaten much of either!  There aren't many French restaurants in Pittsburgh, and the ones we have are a bit out of my price range. It was fun trying out some new recipes, but unfortunately the sides turned out much better than the main dish.  I did find an AMAZING recipe that you'll find below, and I can't wait to make it again and again!  It's incredible!  Keep reading and see what I came up with! P.S. I'll be linking up with Anne in her next Pin to Present series!  If you want to follow me on Pinterest, click here .  The pictures on the left are the pins, and my version is on the right. Chicken Chasseur The chicken chasseur was very odd- when I made it first, the sauce was r...

Pin to Present #1

Image
Hi everyone!  Today, I'm joining in a linkup with  Anne  called Pin to Present!  Is anyone else obsessed with Pinterest?  I use it all the time for outfit inspiration, makeup ideas, travel guides, workouts, and recipes.  Now, you get to see me attempt my most recent pins! Today, I'm going to be trying out a few different pins: an art project, a hairstyle, and an outfit.  Go big or go home, right? First up is the art project.  I got this idea from Tatertots and Jello. I knew ahead of time that I wanted a project that re-purposed magazines, because I have a TON of old issues that I needed to get rid of.  This design was really pretty and easy to recreate!  I decided to make mine with a plane silhouette instead of a bird, since I love to travel so much.  This would be a fun project to do with kids, or to give as a present to someone because it's easy to personalize.  A running themed one would be really cool too!  Ne...
