Top Five Friday #44

Hi everyone!  I'm stopping by quickly today to share my Top Five Favorites for the week.  This has been a crazy week, so it's going to be a short and sweet post.  I hope that you enjoy, and I promise to talk more next week!

Beets Blu Paper Tag

I was really excited when Beets Blu contacted me about trying out one of their new products- a wireless key finder!  I can't tell you how many times a day I misplace my keys or my cell phone.  Dan's become so accustomed to this, that whenever I come into the living room and start moving stuff around he asks "what did you lose now..".

Enter- the Paper Tag.  This tiny little device does a ton:
  • Keep track of your valuables (keys, wallets, suitcase, laptop bag, backpack - whatever is tagged)
  • Detect the proximity of lost or forgotten items wirelessly
  • Alert you when your item shifts outside of a connection range (about 15 feet/5 meters)
  • Send sounds and enable an LED light to alert you
I've had this product for about a week now, and I'm slightly ashamed to say that I've already used it a few times.  I love how quick and easy it is to use, and it's so small that I don't mind it on my keys at all!  It also has a cool feature of controlling some phone functions like taking a picture or playing music.  It's great to use as a remote for my phone camera so I don't have to use the self-time anymore!

SuzLyfe on a Podcast!

I am so proud of one of my favorite bloggers Susie for being featured on a podcast!  If you haven't checked out Susie's blog yet, you have to.  She's such an inspiring person and her blog voice is really genuine and hilarious.  I love her outlook on life, always turning lemons into applesauce.  She's just as joyful and amazing in person, so you've got to check her out in this podcast!  You can listen to it here, or find it on iTunes!

(Flashback to when I met Suz in real life!)

Grammy Fashion Favorites

I didn't watch the Grammy's at all (except for Gaga's performance and some other clips on Snapchat) but I love looking at the fashion afterwards!  Here are some of my favorites:

Carrie Underwood, working the side slit

Selena Gomez in one of my favorite colors and an interesting cut

Chrissy Teigan, looking gorgeous as always!

THON Weekend

I've mentioned a few times before that I went to Penn State, and this weekend is one of the biggest for the school.  Each year, the students host a 46 hour long no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon to raise money for pediatric cancer.  The money raised goes to the Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital- an incredible $127 million dollars since 1977.  Last year, THON raised over $13 million and 96% of those funds went directly to Four Diamonds.

The marathon starts today, but there's still time to donate!  You can go here to make a donation and help join the fight against pediatric cancer.

TV Shows

American Idol - All I can say is that my two favorites (La'Porsha and Dalton) KILLED it in the first round!  So excited to see them progress as the competition goes on, because I think they'll make it very far.

How to Get Away With Murder - So excited that this show is back on!  I'm already falling behind but I can't wait to see how the season follows up after the big cliffhanger!

Vanderpump Rules - I just started to get into this show, and it is crazy.  Never have I been more thankful for having Dan in my life instead of those creeps on the show!  Is no one loyal?!

Property Virgins - Thanks to house hunting (still) I'm watching every show out there about home buying or DIYing.  This show is my "show of the week" and I'm loving it!  I can relate so well with the people on this show, except for the ones looking for million dollar homes in Manhattan!

Have a great weekend everyone!

  2. THANK YOU SO MUCH! You know how much I adore you.
But did you have to stick me next to Carrie Underwood? I look like a shoe next to her :D

  3. I've started putting my keys on a very long lanyard now which makes it difficult for me to lose!

    Have a good weekend!

  4. Hm...would that key holder work on an iPod or other device? Or does it have to be keys? I have a kid who loses absolutely everything and I think we could use a few "finder" devices." Great list as always Gretchen!

  7. I lose my keys ALL THE TIME. I lose everything, actually. I currently can't find my Garmin watch charger. Most of the time I will find my things in the garbage because that's where Callum tosses everything he picks up. So that's fun. Or I'll find it in the washing machine, if I've left my key in my running jacket. Sigh...

I really enjoyed Susie's podcast. She's such an incredible person.
