Top Five Friday #68

Happy Friday (and officially-fall) everyone!  I'm feeling a little under the weather, so I'm looking forward to sleeping in this weekend and catching up on some Fall TV premiers (did anyone watch This Is Us?  So good!).  I have so much to share today, so let's get to it!

Linking up with MarCynthia and Court
as well as Heather and Momfessionals

Endangered Species Chocolate

Dan picked this chocolate up for me on a whim at the store, and it's so good!  It's certified vegan, gluten free, non-GMO, and a portion of it goes to support endangered animals!  It actually tastes good too, so you really can't lose.  We found it at our local grocery store, but I've also seen it at Whole Foods, and it's available on Amazon! YUM!

Miley's Back!

Little known fact of me- I was a huge Hannah Montana fan growing up.  I don't even think that I was the target demographic, but I watched that show religiously, own the movie, and dressed up like her for Halloween.  I own all of Miley's music and have been a fan even when she was going through her crazy phase!  Now she's back and better than ever, starring on this season of the Voice!  She recently visited Jimmy Fallon, and you have to check out her performance.  She's amazing! (p.s. if you want to see Miley's musical evolution- watch this video!)

The Easiest Pumpkin Latte

I've been making my own pumpkin spice lattes this week, and I'm obsessed.  After some experimentation, I found a mixture that's flavorful, not overly sweet, and vegan!  It also only takes about 2 minutes to throw together, so when I'm rushing out the door at 6 in the morning, it's clutch.  Here's my "recipe":

1 T pumpkin puree
1 t pumpkin pie spice
1 t maple syrup (or sweetner of choice...add more or less to taste)
1 shot espresso (or 2 when you have a case of the Mondays)
8 oz steamed almond milk

Add ingredients to a mug in order listed, and whisk to combine.  If you don't have a milk frother, heat almond milk in a saucepan with pumpkin puree, spices and syrup.

Play! By Sephora

Anastasia Brow Gel - I have really full, thick, unruly brows and this gel works so well!  It keeps them tamed all day long but doesn't make them look too stiff or unnatural.
Kat von D Tattoo Liner - MY FAVORITE LINER.  I was so excited to get a mini in the box this month!
Living Proof Night Cap - I love using this along with my Living Proof shampoo!  My new favorite hair brand!
Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick - The color is really pretty and the formula is so creamy and smooth.  I'm not really a fan of shiny lipsticks though, and this one looks like a straight up gloss.
Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation - I love how silky smooth this moisturizer is!  Big fan.

iPhone 7

I decided to finally upgrade my phone and get the new iPhone!  I've had the iPhone 5 for the past few years, and while I loved it, some features stopped working.  Plus, I work on the mobile and emerging payments team at my bank, and everyone made fun of me for not being able to use Apple Pay or any kind of digital wallet!  So far, I'm loving the phone, especially the amazing photos it takes!  I got the phone in black (not jet black) and got this case to go with it....love!

Songs

Such a fun and catchy song!

If you follow me on Snapchat you saw a little interpretive dance to this song...I absolutely LOVE it

Adding this song to my running playlist immediately!

This version of Katy Perry's song gave me SO many chills..it's incredible

Another oldie but goodie!

Have a great weekend!

  1. I've been thinking about going to sephora to get some new stuff for fall. I've just been really lazy when it comes to shopping lately!

  4. Oh I love that chocolate too! (And coincidentally my husband introduced ME to it! ha!) He's been buying it for awhile and finally convinced me to try the espresso version and I love it! It's great when you want something for a sweet tooth but not a whole bunch of calories (provided you eat just one square and not the whole bar! LOL)

  5. I just ordered an iPhone 7 Plus because my phone is seriously low on space. Can't wait! Kat Von D is my favorite liner, too. It's so smooth. That pumpkin latte sounds amazing. I could totally make it without the coffee, since I don't like coffee.

  6. So, I need to find a Free trade chocolate to buy, is that one free trade? :) I've realized now when I go to the store that they are really hard to find? :) Any recommendations?

And an easy pumpkin spice latte sounds good!

  7. I have the iPhone 5, and am probably too frugal to buy a new one until this one totally breaks, but I have to admit I'm super jealous of the camera on the 7.

Mmm. I make coffee at work in the mornings, but that easy PSL sounds like a great weekend treat for when I have some more time in the mornings. :)

  8. That chocolate sound delicious! I get so upset when I guy dark chocolate before reading the label and find a bunch of added ingredients. And yum, I need to try making my own PSL at home, the ones at Sbucks are too sweet for me.

  9. I ALMOST bought the endangered species brand yesterday but I went with my usual ghiradelli. But now you have me even more curiuos! And you've also inspired me to make my own PSL. Enough of those $5.00 drinks!

  10. We have that chocolate up here! Wow! Usually we don't get the same cool stuff as you guys. Ha ha.. "clutch"... you're hilarious. Our teenagers are constantly using new words and make me feel so old. Jake used the word "pote" once. I was like, "pote?" And then a few minutes later I tried to impress him by using it in a sentence except I accidentally said "tope" instead. Which sounds like "taupe." It was NOT a clutch sitch.

    1. hahhaha! I have no idea what pote means...now I have to look it up. Hope it's not dirty ;)

  11. ooh! thanks for sharing the PLAY goodies! mine sends to PGH so i will have to keep an eye on your posts when i'm not in town to see what's included. :)

  12. I am anxiously awaiting October as it means iHerb will stock chocolate again (they don't in the summer months) as I have been missing that espresso bean chocolate! It really is so good!

I'm in need of a new iPhone and I'm tossing up between just getting the 6 (which is now SO MUCH CHEAPER, haha!) or the 7. Choices choices!

  13. I am vey curious about the iPhone 7, but I feel as if I need to get one more year out of my 6. These things are just to dang expensive. I've heard that the camera is awesome, which intrigues me even more. I'm not happy about the loss of the headphone jack, however. My favorite headphones require one. I guess when the time comes, I will be one of those individuals handing more money over to Apple for an adapter.

Have a wonderful weekend! Visiting from Friday Favorites.

  15. i didn't watch This Is Us because i didn't want to stay up that late, and now i think i will wait for a few more episodes to be available so i can binge a bit. i am not good with watching one episode a week, i forget.
ew, i can't believe you are a miley fan! we can't be friends! just kidding ME TOO. i didn't dress up as her for halloween, but i watched the show and the movie and love love loved it all. i watched the show like as it was ending, so i was well above the target demographic haha. but i can't help it, she's fabulous. i liked her music less in the crazy period, just not my style as much.
Bat Out Of Hell! YES. best.
