December Goals

Happy last month of this decade!  Hard to believe, but let's try to make this one the best!  It was a very busy month for me with trips to Indianapolis, Portugal, Washington DC, and Carlisle, so let's take a look back at how I did on my goals from November, and make a few for December.

Finish two races

Technically I did finish two races, but if you read my Indy recap you'll know that I didn't finish the race I wanted to.  The Pittsburgh 10 Miler was great and I had a really fun time running with friends, and I had a lot of leg issues during the Indy Marathon so I dropped to the half during the race. Still got my medals for finishing, but still dealing with a little pain weeks later.

Deep clean

I did clean my house pretty thoroughly, but not sure if it would be considered a "deep clean".  I made sure to go through each room and everything looks great (felt great to come home from that after my trip!) but could still clean a bit more in December.

Finish writing my Japan posts

Almost finished this!  I still have one more to go, but I'll consider this one completed since I ended up splitting my Kyoto posts into two posts.  Look for the rest to be posted on here in December!

Read two books

I did finish one book- Bunny by Mona Awad, and I'm starting a new one now. Bunny was a VERY weird book and not at all what I expected, so I kind of needed a break after that.  I did read a lot of travel and guidebooks for upcoming trips (and to get ready for my Portugal trip) so let's just consider this one done as well.

So- not the best month but pretty solid.  Here's what I'm hoping to do in December!

No spend (minus trips)

We have a lot of travel ending the year- Portugal wasn't the cheapest and there's a trip at the end of December as well.  So, while we're not in another state or country I want to do a no spend to help even out our expenses.  This might be hard with all the holidays coming up, but I'm hoping to keep things as low or no cost as possible by cooking up dinners with friends instead of going out, having movie nights, or even getting back into running to hang out with friends!

Gym 3 times a week

I have definitely neglected the gym and working out in general for the past two months.  I was running the bare minimum to help prevent any further injury to my leg, so I want to get back in the swing of going to classes, playing racquetball, swimming, and generally making use of my gym membership.

Declutter

I did a minimalist challenge last year that had you discard 1 item on the first of the month, 2 items on the second of the month, etc.  It was great to slowly get rid of things I don't use, so I'm bringing that back for December.

What are your goals for the month?

Comments

  1. oh gosh, sorry to hear about your leg issues and that you are still dealing with pain :( and love that declutter challenge, i know i did it either this year or maybe even in 2018, i don't remember lol. it got to be a bit hard towards the end! next year, i'm going to do 1 item a day. i figure that's more manageable for me. but i did love the minimalist challenge and it did definitely challenge me to look at things i would have ignored before, so... maybe i should bring that back sometime next year.

  2. Sorry about the leg injury. I hope the pain doesn't last much longer.
