Wednesday Reviews : Allure Beauty Box [Body]

Happy Hump Day everyone! Today is going to be part 2 of my Allure Beauty Box review (if you missed part 1- Makeup- check it out here!). The final part will be hair products, which is taking a bit more time to review. There are lots of creams and sprays, and I only have one head of hair.  It'll be here in a few weeks!

For now, I hope you enjoy my reviews on the body products included in the box.  As you can see, there's lot of everyday items that I was thrilled to get (saving money is always a good thing!).  Enjoy!

Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter Beauty Bar : I have a strict no bar soap policy (they gross me out and I just can't use this) so unfortunately I won't get any use out of this.  It smelled great through the package though, and I'm sure it's a great product!  I'll be giving this to someone so it still gets used, but it won't be by me!

Caress Love Forever Body Wash : LOVE the scent of this, and it does seem to linger a bit after I get out of the shower.  Caress is usually my body wash of choice, so this wasn't a big surprise!

Curel Itch Defense Body Wash : I typically have a problem with itchy skin in the winter, so I'll hold off on trying this product for now.  I love the idea of this wash, so I'm excited to try it.

Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths : I tried these cloths after a few different workouts, and it was decent at cooling me down.  It feels like a plain baby wipe and didn't help to make me feel extraordinarily fresh or clean.  It's a nice little pack to have, and would be great if I had to rush off after the gym.

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant : I actually already owned this spray in a difference scent and love it!  It is really easy and quick to use, without having to worry about ruining your top with the dreaded white deodorant marks.  I only use this if I'm not planning on sweating though (running errands, staying home, going to work, etc).  It doesn't seem to help much if I'm out on a run or doing a hard workout, so I'll use a heavier formula in those situations.  Otherwise, this is great and I love the scent!

Jergens BB Body Perfection Skin Cream : I've gone through multiple bottles of this lotion.  It has a very subtle tint that helps to blur and cover any marks on your legs or arms.  I like to wear this when I wear dresses in the summer.  The only downside is that I received this cream in the light shade, which doesn't really cover well.  I recommend trying the dark shade (even if you're really pale) or trying out Sally Hanson's Airbrushed Legs, which covers much better!  However, the scent on this lotion is fantastic and it moisturizes really well, so I'll definitely use this!

Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes : I've tried these towelettes in the past and have never liked them.  I find them really dry, not effective at removing makeup, and harsh on my eye area.  It doesn't seem to take off eye makeup at all and stings my eyes like crazy!  I'll use these to take off any makeup on my hand (sometimes I'll pump out foundation or concealer) but won't use these on my face.

Laneige Trial Set : This set contained a cleanser, serum, moisturizer and sleeping mask.  The cleanser has tiny exfoliating scrubs that made my skin feel really soft and clean.  The serum sunk into my skin really quickly, as did the moisturizer.  All three of those products worked really well, so I'll add these to my weekend bag as a travel skin care set.  Unfortunately, the sleep mask made me break out when I tried it previously, so I'll skip on it this time.

Arm and Hammer Truly Radiant Mouthwash : I love using mouthwash, so this was a nice little size to have- perfect for a weekend trip.  I liked this formula and the fact that it's alcohol free.  It made my mouth feel really fresh and didn't burn at all.  I was really excited Allure included these products so I don't have to buy any right away!

Toothpaste : I've tried Arm and Hammer toothpastes in the past, and I've always really liked them.  They all have a slightly gritty texture and make my mouth taste really minty and fresh.  I didn't tell a huge difference in the whiteness of my teeth, but I usually use a whitening toothpaste anyway!

Spin Brush : I honestly couldn't tell any difference in this brush from a regular manual tooth brush. At the top of the brush is a circular section of bristles that is supposed to spin when you brush (similar to an electric toothbrush) but I really couldn't tell if the bristles were spinning or doing anything special.  It's a good toothbrush, but nothing revolutionary.

  1. I totally agree with you about the "Yes to..." wipes. I love the scent, but they just don't take my makeup off! The only thing that makes my face feel clean is actually washing my face, unfortunately! Let me know if you find some wipes that really work!!

    1. I really like Clean and Clear's Night Relaxing wipes (these- http://www.cleanandclear.com/facial-cleansers/night-relaxing-cleansing-wipes). They have a great, calming scent and remove most of my makeup easily. I still need to wash my face (I would do that no matter what I use to remove my makeup though) but these are the only kinds I like!

  6. Great review!!! I've been so hesitant to try an electric tooth brush! I feel like my gums are so sensitive that they'd just bleed forever :( But I'm totally loving the refresh cooling cloths for this gross summer humidity!

    1. Honestly it doesn't feel harsh or anything. I haven't noticed any soreness in my gums at all so it might be worth a shot!

  9. I like the idea of the Curel Itch Defense Body Wash too. My skin gets so dry in the winter so that might be a nice product for me to try.

  10. The refresh cooling body cloths sound great! Sometimes if I drive to North Park for a run, I would love to be able to run a few errands after but I'm too sweaty. This might be great for that! I sometimes use the Yes to towelettes but not on my eyes. I only use coconut oil to remove eye makeup because it's so gentle & takes everything off so easily.

    1. They're definitely something to look into! They were amazing, but definitely helped a bit. Better than nothing, right? I currently use mineral oil to remove makeup and it's the best thing I've found! Plus, it's super cheap. Bonus!!
