Pantone Color Of the Year

Every year, Pantone releases their "Color of the Year".  There's a top secret meeting held twice a year, where different color professionals (what a cool job!) from nations around the world spend two days figuring out what the color trends will be. While there's only one color of the year, they also release a collection of color trends to fashion designers, interior designers, and other professionals.

This year, for the first time ever, Pantone named TWO colors of the year!  These colors are rose quartz and serenity.  Here are the descriptions provided by Pantone:

Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.

How beautiful are these colors? I love them paired together, mixed together, or used separately.  For today's post, I thought it would be fun to find different products in these tones, from tops to bottoms and everything in between.  I hope you enjoy!

tops

Rose Quartz:
Everlane Structured Tee
I love this over-sized tee, that's slouchy yet polished at the same time.  The color pink poplin is beautiful!
Madewell Connection Sweater
I love this twist on a traditional crew neck sweater.  I love the shade sunset rose!

Serenity:
Madewell Modern Linen Flare-Hem Tee
This style may be a bit cutesy, but I really love it for springtime.  It's fun and flirty!
Lululemon Let Be Long Sleeve Tee
At first glance, this looks like a cute, basic long sleeve. When you look a little closer, you can see all the little details that Lulu added that make it just a bit more special.

dresses

Rose Quartz:
Forever21 A-Line Mini Dress
Forever 21 can be a bit hit and miss, but this dress looks really well-made.  I love how simple this shift is, so you can really dress it up with accessories!  How gorgeous is the mauve shade?!
Mossimo Swing Tank Dress
Some of my favorite basic dresses are from Target.  They're so cheap, and are the perfect base for an outfit.  This dress is so cute that I might need it in every shade...

Serenity:
Old Navy Geo-Print Chambray Shift Dress
I added something with a bit of pattern, and I think this dress is adorable!  I love the subtle geo print, and this shade of chambray is neither too dark or light. Just perfect.
Leith Racerback Shift Dress
I love a shift dress if you can't tell, and I love the cut of this one. Once again, this would be the perfect base for some cute outfits!

pants

Rose Quartz:
American Eagle Sateen X Jeggings
The word sateen may scare you off, but these jeggings are actually subtle and really cute.  I could see this paired with a big over-sized cream sweater.
Pine and Needles Yoke Chiffon Maxi Skirt
This might not be the most practical item on this list, but who doesn't want to have that glamorous piece in their closet?!  (Carrie Bradshaw would approve)

Serenity:
Lululemon Time Warp Tight
An easy way to stay on trend is with your workout gear!  These tights are in a beautiful color, and the cut is so flattering.
Express High Waisted Criss-Cross Asymmetrical Skirt
Is this style still in fashion?  I never wore it, but I think it's so cool.  I especially love it in the blue dazzle shade!

accessories

Rose Quartz:
Kendra Scott Earrings
These earrings are simply gorgeous, no matter what color they are!
Forever 21 Zipper Faux Leather Cross Body
Who doesn't need a baby pink purse?  I love the size and the chain strap.  Bonus- it also comes in a serenity-ish color as well!

Serenity:
Baublebar Discus Pendant
If you're looking for a very subtle way to represent the color of the year, this small pendant may be a good bet!
Lululemon Bangs Back Headwrap
Another subtle (and practical) solution is picking up this wide headband in heathered lullaby.  Keeping your hair out of your way when working out is always in style!

  4. Oh, pretty! I hardly ever go shopping and when I do, I have such a short amount of time so I usually just kinda grab whatever jumps out at me and often I don't even try it on until I get home. I'm not a fashiony person or a shopper. I wish I could hire you to come over and pick out all my clothes for me.

  9. I do not like these colors. They can try to rename them but we all know it's mauve and dusty blue circa 1985!
Reminds me of the Golden Girls, gold facuets and wallpaper borders with geese wearing bonnets.
