March Goals

Wow, can you all believe it's March already?  2015 is almost a quarter of the way over!? This year is flying by!

At the beginning of every month, I'll be reviewing my previous month's goals and setting forth new goals for myself.  Since this is my first full month of blogging, I'll start on a fresh slate and just give you my goals for March!  Let's see what I can do this month.

Fitness Goals:
-Run 100 miles .  This will help me with my yearly goal of running 1,000 miles.

-Take a Centergy, Power and spin class each week .  I skipped a few classes so far this year, so I hope to be more consistent and go to them every week!  The classes are each offered on various days at my gym, so I can always substitute one class for another if I can't make it.  If you're interested in learning more about Centergy or Power, check out my guides here and here.

-Follow my training plan 100%.  I'll be sharing my training plan tomorrow with my weekly goals!  I'm running a half marathon in June, and my plan starts out halfway through March.

Personal Goals:
-Read a book.  Part of my yearly goals as well.  This month, I'll be reading My Sister's Grave by Robert Dugoni.  I'm "borrowing" it from Amazon as part of my Prime subscription.  There's not a huge selection of books to choose, so I'm not sure what to expect!
Note- I just signed up for Good Reads, so you can follow along with my goal here!

-Cook a different cuisine.  This month's cuisine is Indian.  If anyone has any recipes or favorite Indian food please let me know!

-Drink water! I bought a Brita pitcher last month, and I want to start drinking more water!  My plan is to have a glass every morning before I leave for work, one as soon as I get home from work, and one before bed.  I already drink a lot during work in my water bottle, but I want to start drinking at home as well instead of alcohol or sugary drinks!

Other Goals:
-Spend less than $100, and save $100.  I can talk more about this in an upcoming post, but one of my major goals for 2015 was to spend less money.  My goal is to spend less than $100 on "extras" per month..things like clothes, makeup, etc.  By the end of the month, I'll show you where my money went, and hopefully I'm under budget.

I'm also setting aside $100 a month.  In June, I should have $600 saved up to spend however I want (kind of like a "treat" for following my goals!)  This June, I'm planning on making a trip to LuluLemon for the first time and picking up some new workout gear.

-Get organized.  I'm not a very organized person naturally, so this will be a challenge. I recently ordered a planner from Etsy to help out.  Stay tuned for a Wednesday Review coming soon!

Sounds like it's going to be a busy month!

Do you have any goals for March?

What is your favorite type of cuisine?
German is probably my favorite and what I like to cook the most as well!

  1. I also do monthly goals! I feel like it helps so much, because otherwise I tend to forget about my overall yearly goals. I also have a 1,000 mile yearly goal! I'm excited to hear about your training plan. I love reading about other people's training. Happy March!

  2. Good goals, I don't usually set monthly goals. I am more of a yearly goal type of person. I do a 30 day challenge each month so I guess you could call that a goal.

    1. This is my first year making monthly goals..I thought it would keep me on track with my yearly goals better. So far, it's been working! What sort of 30 day challenges do you do? I guess I'll have to check out your blog to see what you're doing next :)

  3. Great set of goals there. I set monthly goals, but they're usually wrapped up in long term goals. I really need to get back to reading books more often, and I mean books other than about fitness/running. I was great about it for a while and then of course just "got busy" and stopped reading for fun so much. I think you may have just inspired another goal for me! :)

    1. Thanks Nichole! I need to start reading better books that can actually add something to my life instead of just trash novels! Do you have any recommendations of your favorites?
