May 11 - Weekly Goals

Happy Monday everyone!  This week is going to be a bit different on GretchRuns: it's Travel Week!  All of my posts this week will be centered around traveling: what to pack, what apps to use, and travel guides for the rest of my trip.  I hope you'll all enjoy it!

How was your weekend?  Mine was a lot of fun! Here are a few highlights:
I finally visited the second level of Sienna Mercato (Mezzo) for lunch!  I've been to Emporio and Il Tetto a few times, but this might be my favorite.  The food was delicious and we got a great window seat.  Loved it!

Lots and lots of walks in the park with Selma!  She's loving the warm weather, and I'm so lucky to have beautiful parks within walking distance of our apartment.  I just take her 50 foot leash and some music and let her run around!

Stopped for an early dinner at Independent Brewing Company.  This place is so cool- most of their menu and all of their beers are from local businesses.  They serve drafts from breweries I've been wanting to try that are a bit far away (like Spoonwood, Brew Gentlemen and Full Pint).  I tried the Black in the USSR from Grist House, and the 50 Shades of Grain collaboration beer.  Both were delicious, but on complete different ends of the beer spectrum.  I love the idea of this place and will definitely be back!

Here's my plan for the week!  It's pretty low-mileage, but I have a race on Saturday.  It's my last one before the Biggest Loser Half, so I'm excited to see how my training's going!

Monday: 5 miles
Tuesday: Centergy
Wednesday: Hump Day Hills with True Runner Run Club (any local people out there- find out more info about Run Club here!  For Hump Day hills we're going to do repeats up Shady Ave and earn $5 at True Runner for each repeat (up to $20)! How's that for motivation?)
Thursday: 3 miles + Power
Friday:  Yoga, Stretch + Foam Roll
Saturday: Team Alex 5 miler
Sunday: Rest

What's on your schedule for the week?
Hope you all have a great start of the week!

  1. Looks like a great week ahead!

I had planned to start easing back into my runs this week, but a literal pan in my ass (either piriformis or the sciatic nerve) will probably squash those plans :-/ Total Bummer.

  3. The next couple weeks are going to be down weeks for me. I'll try to get stuff done but part of me is resting up before summer heat kicks in.

    1. Thank you! I was horrible about taking her this winter, so I'm trying to make up for it by taking her for a long walk every day now.
