Top Five Friday #19

HAPPY FRIDAY!! So excited for the weekend (as always) and have a lot to share with you all today!  I'll be talking about some things that I've been loving this week, as well as some updates on my favorite shows.  I hope you all have a great weekend!

Sephora Summer Safety Kit

I bought this kit at the start of the summer, and have been testing out all of the products.  Some I've loved, and some have completely broken me out and quickly got thrown away!  My favorites so far are:

Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (my current everyday sunscreen.  Feels silky smooth and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin)

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 in Light Medium (a little too dark for me, but I love the coverage!  Makes my skin look naturally perfect and dewy while also being super lightweight. Magic!)

Ole Henriksen total truth eye crème SPF 15 (great eye cream!  I use it at night and love how moisturizing it is)

I'm so happy I bought the kit this year and can't wait to try everything else out!  If you can find it in stores, buy it NOW!

Happier with Gretchen Rubin

Last week, I mentioned this podcast as one of my favorites.  I'm still loving it, and I decided to implement Gretchen's practice of a weekly happiness gold star and demerit in my top five post.  Each week, I'll talk about one thing I've done to make me happier, and one bad habit I need to fix.

This week, my happiness gold star is picking up flowers at the store.  I never buy fresh flowers even though I love them, but always wish that Dan would read my mind and surprise me with a bouquet.  At the store this week, all of the flowers looked so beautiful that I decided to buy some, and seeing them every day in the living room really lifts my spirit!  Message to self: nobody can read your mind, so if something would make you happy- take charge!

My happiness demerit is not sticking to my 10 minute declutter goal.  The first few days of the month, I was great about spending 10 minutes cleaning up, and loved how quickly I could get things cleaned up.  That habit quickly faded away just by forgetting about it, so next week I'll put a note in my planner every day to get back on track!

Pirates Game

On Wednesday, I went to a tailgate and baseball game with the Women in Technology group at my work.  It was a dreary, rainy day, but the game was great!  It was a come-from-behind win which is always exciting.  The Pirates continue to dominate in the first half of the season, and I'm excited to see how they'll do after the All Star Break.  I also want to share this sweet story and video that demonstrates how great the players are!

Dave DiCello

All my Pittsburgh readers should recognize this name as one of the top photographers in the area.  My dad has been a big fan of his for a while, and I recently started following Dave on Twitter.  He posts the most incredible pictures of Pittsburgh!  If you want to see some beautiful, breathtaking views of the city, make sure to follow his account here!

MassageEnvy Giveaway Winner!!

First of all, thank you all so much for entering my first giveaway.  I was really excited to see so many new commenters and old friends leaving such nice comments on last week's post!  I loved reading each and every message, and think you all deserve to treat yourselves.  Unfortunately I only have one gift certificate to give. The winner is....

Jamie from I Don't Eat That! Jamie is such an inspiration to me and I absolutely love her blog (check it out!!) She's also been a huge support pretty much since I started blogging, so I was really excited when her comment was randomly chosen.

Congratulations!!  I'll be hosting more giveaways in the future, so be on the lookout for the next one!

TV Shows

So You Think You Can Dance

I absolutely love the top 20 that was chosen for the live shows!  Although there are a few dancers that I'm sad didn't make it, all of my favorites are in.  So far, I'm cheering for Jaja, Jessica, B1, and Virgil from Team Street and Gaby, Jim, and Marissa from Team Stage.  Going to be exciting!

Seinfeld

Dan's favorite show of all time is Seinfeld, and I started watching it with him last year.  We have a boxed set, but it's always a hassle to get the discs out and get the DVD player set up (first world problems) so I'm really excited that it's on HULU now!  We're almost done with the series, but there are lots of episodes that I'll be re-watching!

UnREAL

Well, I finally hit my breaking point and stopped watching the Bachelorette.  I've been following the series since Jillian was the  lead, and have always followed through till the end.  I'm so annoyed and disappointed with this season (not with Kaitlyn, but with the production crew and editors. ugh)!  Thank goodness for UnREAL, which follows a fictional Bachelor-type show, with tons of drama and outrageous behavior.  At least that show doesn't market itself as reality TV, so it's really enjoyable!

Big Brother

So far this season, I'm not really a huge fan of any of the contestants.  They all seemed really nice and sweet the first week, but now their real colors are starting to show and I'm just not really into any of them!  Steve is probably my favorite so far!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Please share some happiness gold stars in the comments!

Linking up with Mar, Cynthia and Court
as well as Heather and Clare!

    1. It is!! I don't think the later seasons are quite as funny, so I have to re-watch some of the first few seasons again.

  5. Andrew has watched Seinfeld almost every single night for as long as that show has been on the air. I've always loved it, so I don't mind too much! We can recite all the words though. Sigh...

  11. I love Gretchen Rubin too. In fact I recommended her first book to our Literary Club when I was president and each meeting we started with one of her happiness questions.

I love that you treated yourself with flowers. We have a saying in our family. They can't read your mind so if you want to G E T. You have to A S K. I love your blog. You are doing such a great job with it!
