Monthly Goals : August

Hi everyone!  How is your week going so far?  It's already August, which means it's time for another monthly goals recap!  This will be a bit of a longer post since I'll be sharing my July goal results, August goals, as well as an update on my 30x30 list (each month I'll just share if I crossed any items off!).  Let's get into the goals!

Fitness Goals :

- 3 runs with Run Club.  Yes!  I went quite a few times this month, and even went by myself.  It was great to meet new people without the security blanket of having Dan there.

- 2 cross training sessions each week.  I wasn't very consistent with what cross training I did, but I did get in a ton of exercise outside of running.  From yoga in the park to Total Body Fitness, I did a ton of stuff!  It was really fun to do different activities, so I hope to keep that variety next month.

- Get over 15,000 steps a day.  I missed one day the entire month!  I would say that's pretty decent.  It was difficult to get that many steps on my off days from running, but I managed to do it for 30 out of 31 days!

- Start bike riding.  Yes!!! Definitely my biggest victory of the month.  Not only did I get a bike at the beginning of the month, but I let go of my fears and took it out a ton.  Now I just have to get in longer rides!

Personal Goals :

- Eat breakfast every day.  Yes!  Some days were better than others, but I always had at least something to eat for breakfast.  If you want to check out my suggestions- click here!

- Finish a craft project.  Yes!  I actually did two craft projects this month- a painting of Selma at a Painting with a Twist event, and a cross stitch project that I've been neglecting for years!

- Cook Belgian food.  Check out our dinner here!  It was delicious!

- Read 3 books.  I finished four books this month, including an autobiography.  I reviewed them in this post!

- Commit to 10 minute de-clutter.  Eh, no.  Unfortunately this goal fell off my radar this month.  Next month I'll try again- and schedule it at the same time each night so I get in the habit!

30x30 List Updates :

- Visited two east coast ball parks

New York Mets Game - June 28, 2015

- Ride on a Jet Ski
July 3, 2015 at Smith Mountain Lake, VA

- Race on my birthday #1

August Goals :

- Follow new half marathon training plan.  I'll post about this on Thursday.  Also, if all goes to plan, I will FINALLY break 100 miles.  This is a goal I've been working on all year!

- Go on a long bike ride.  My current longest ride is just over 3 miles.  There are lots of bike paths around the city, so I'm hoping to go on a ride of 5-10 miles.

- Drink more water.  I've been neglecting this a lot lately, especially on weekends.  My FitBit app allows you to track your water, so my goal is to drink the recommended 60oz each day.

- Write a Costa Rica or Europe post.  I keep promising a post on my previous trips to CR and Europe, so it'll be a goal to write a #ThrowbackThursday post on one or both!

- Pack a lunch every day.  I'm usually pretty good about packing a lunch for work, but definitely go through phases when I buy a lot.  That money adds up really quickly, so I want to try to go an entire month without buying a lunch at all!  I will also put together a post on lunch ideas that I hope you'll all like!

  1. Way to hit all your goals and I am anxious to see if you hit your goals for this month. I say I am going to pack a lunch everyday and yet I spend around 100 a week on going out for lunch, lol.

  2. You have some awesome goals! I'm all about bringing packed lunches to work every day. Saves so much money and I find I eat so much healthier when I do! Congrats on all your goals and you're doing a pretty good job at knocking those 30 by 30 goals off your list! : )

    1. Thank you! I've always been a happier person when I have a lot to focus on. Once I'm bored and don't do much, I get in the habit of being lazy and get irritable. My mom always said I have to have a few projects to do!!
