Labor Day Weekend recap

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, and hopefully are still enjoying some time off.  I had a semi-productive and busy weekend.  I watched tons of tennis matches and some college football, but also got in some family time and a race!  Here's a few snapshots from my weekend: (linking up with Erin and Katie!)

College football started this week!  As you can tell, Selma and I were super excited for the game (she's all decked out in her jersey and I'm in the latest addition to my Penn State T-shirt collection).  Ignore Dan in the back trying to get Selma's attention!  The game was great..for about a quarter.  It was a disappointing loss, but here's to hoping the remainder of the season is better!

I stopped by the mall to check out the sales, and ended up picking up a reversible Barcelona tank in an adorable print (the other side is plain black), a printed cap sleeve blouse and the most comfortable dress.  I'm obsessed with that shade of blue and love this dress for fall!

steelers 5k race recap 2015
Sunday was the Steelers 5k.  I love this race and highly suggest it if you're looking to PR (which I did!).  The course is really flat and fast, the goodie bags always have tons of Steelers merchandise, and the proceeds benefit the Art Rooney Scholarship fund.  I actually received this scholarship my senior year of college so I love to support it by running this race!

running playlist
Here is my playlist if you're interested in what I listened to!  I only made it through half of the songs, but they all pumped me up and got my legs moving.  I hope you like it!

bjs brewhouse beer review
Afterwards, we met up with my family for dinner at BJ's Brewhouse.  I love their beer, and the menu is huge so it's a great place to go with a group.  Everyone can find at least one thing they'll like!  The restaurant is in a new open-air strip called McCandless Crossing- they recently built a Trader Joes, Homegoods, movie theatre and more.  I love stopping by that area!
I got a caprese salad as an appetizer...
And Hawaiian Mahi Mahi for my main course.  Delicious!!

Today I'm looking forward to resting and relaxing!  I'm going on a bike ride with some friends, helping out with renovations at my parents' and stopping by the Humane Society for dog walking.  I'm also going to be glued to the TV as much as possible to watch the US Open action..it's been a great tournament so far!

How was your weekend?
Are you doing anything special for Labor Day?
Have you been watching the US Open?  Will Venus upset Serena?  Talk about an awkward family dinner if she does...

    1. Exactly! It's a perfect sport to put on in the background as well, so I'll put it on and do some cleaning or blogging in the living room. Perfect!

  5. I really want to do that Steeler's 5K some year. Since it's always been over labor day its been difficult. Was it all Steeler's themed and did you see any of the players?

    1. Yes to both! We got some steeler's waterbottles, posters, magnets, shirts, and more. The race always has two captains- this year it was Charlie Batch and Brett Keisel. Other players stop by as well and some even run it, so it's lots of fun!
