Top Five Friday #31
Hi everyone and TGIF! Unfortunately, I'm a bit under the weather today, so all I want to do is stay in bed and finish watching season 1 of The Good Wife. I hope you don't mind a quick post today! I hope you all have a great weekend!
FashionIt's now officially "sweater weather" and I'm so excited to break them out! Here are my favorite looks from the week:
The only good thing about being sick this week was being able to catch up on Scandal. I haven't been following along this season, so I caught up and have been a little underwhelmed. It feels like the same story line is playing over and over again so far- Olivia and Fitz are together, now they're not, now they are...when will it stop!? Does anyone else think she would have been better off with Jake? I think he's a lot better looking and sweeter too!
I used to be obsessed with this show, and haven't watched in a while. I forgot how funny it is, and I'm happy to see that it's still just as clever as the first season! My favorite part of the show is seeing all of the kids growing up as the seasons progress. How cute is Gloria and Jay's son!?
Dancing With the Stars
I don't have the stats in front of me, but I think this may have been the highest scoring week ever! So many 10's were given out, and I agree that it was a really great night of dance! I thought that Alexa's dance was a lot better than the judges scores showed, and I wasn't too impressed with Bindi's dance this week. "The lift" was really shaky and made me really nervous!!
Still loving this show, even though even more questions are being added each episode! It's still pretty unclear who we can trust, and who is really trying to help Alex. I'm still not 100% sure if we can trust Alex either, or maybe this is all another simulation/final exam for Quantico?
How to Get Away With Murder
Last week's episode was crazy!! All I have to say is that high school girls did not act like that when I was in school...thank goodness. I love the format that the show uses with flashbacks and flash forwards, and now I can't wait to find out what's going on with Caleb and Michaela!
Na Na Na - Pentatonix
If you need a catchy, up tempo song
Night - Ludovico Eiunaudi
If you need a beautiful song to listen to while getting work done
Better When I'm Dancin' - Meghan Trainor
If you need a pick-me-up
Renegade Runway - Carrie Underwood
If you need a powerful, angry song
Hope you feel better soon! Django & I will be spectating the 10-miiler. We'll be at the end of East Ohio Street before the course turns right to go on the 16th St Bridge. I'll look for you!ReplyDelete
Thanks Jennifer! Depending on how I feel I might be taking it very easy and just trying to finish haha!Delete
I have kind of dropped the ball with Modern Family too, but I'm glad to hear that it's still hilarious! I need to get back on that. I hope you get plenty of rest this weekend and feel better!ReplyDelete
You definitely should start watching again!! It's so funny, especially with the changing dynamics in the families.Delete
I have quantico recorded but haven't watched any episodes yet! I started watching another new show this fall "Blood and Oil" and its sooooo good! Feel better soon!ReplyDelete
I've heard a lot about that show and I'll have to check it out sometime!Delete
OMG yes! I totally agree with your two main points on DWTS: Derek & Bindi = overscored, they didn't "nail the lift" like the judges said. It was painful to watch Derek's arms shaking the whole time! And yes, Alexa was better than they gave her credit for. I LOVE Olivia Newton John but she was pretty boring as a judge...except when Carlos danced! Her comment was hilarious. (And I may have re-watched that dance...just sayin.) Love seeing your cute work outfits. The black and white cardigan look = my fave.ReplyDelete

Ohhh Carlos's dance...DANNNGGG and I love how he wanted to keep it clean and was so uncomfortable...swooon. I might have to rewatch that dance just to refresh myself..ahem...Delete
i missed who got voted out of DWTS, if anyone did. i did see the performances and totally agree with you. lucky you for sweaters!! it's 50s here and then in the 80s in the afternoon. boo. happy weekend!!ReplyDelete
It's pretty similar here but about 10 degrees colder each way! Definitely have to roll up the sleeves in the afternoon and change into shorts as soon as I'm home. I'll take it though!Delete
Quantico had got me hooked too... I have no idea what to think!ReplyDelete
DWTS is on the DVR-- looking forward to it!
Agree 100% with the Scandal comments. I watch on Hulu so I'm always a few days behind. But, I can take it or leave it right now. I mostly just keep watching 'cause it's a nice way to relax at the end of a long day.ReplyDelete
And as a throwback to your earlier post from this week. Been taking a break since my HM last weekend. Haven't run yet, and just made it to the gym twice this week for some lifting. I plan to run tomorrow, but sans watch, just until I'm not in the mood to run anymore. I think breaks like this are so important. Mentally & physically. Glad I'm not the only one.
I watch on Hulu too! I agree that I could definitely leave it...I probably won't catch up until I have a full day of rest again. Definitely not horrible though..just not a "must watch" anymore. I'm happy to hear you're taking a break and listening to your body! Good for you :)Delete
I haven't watched Scandal this season yet... still all on my DVR. I'm starting to think that maybe they should've just quit already with it. Like Revenge... after a few seasons it just got tiring to watch. :/ReplyDelete
Agree..getting stale and same story lines over..and over...and over..Delete
oooooh i had not thought about what's happening w/quantico being another test of some sort? interesting theory. i hope you feel better soon!ReplyDelete
Dan doesn't think I'm right, but I just wanted to get it in writing in case that turns out to be correct! You never know :) Thank you Courtney!Delete
Holy cow, you list the best songs ever! I love how random they are. I hope you feel better soon, Gretch! xoReplyDelete
Glad you like them Suzy!! And thank you very much :)Delete
I love Jasmine Thompson and so does my daughter. Such a perfect playlist! Feel better!ReplyDelete
I haven't heard of her before this song, so I'm definitely checking out more of her music!Delete
Those are some of my favorite shows! good wife gets so so much better I love it. I was surprised by Quantico it's good. And Scandal I just love!!ReplyDelete
I'm excited for the later seasons! I can't seem to get through this season though..so many episodes.Delete
I hope you feel better soon. It's always nice to catch up on shows when you are not feeling well. It makes me feel less guilty doing that. At least you have an excuse for laying around to binge watch shows:)ReplyDelete
Thank you! That is the one perk to being sick :)Delete
Hope you feel better soon! I've been stuffed up lately but luckily meds help so I can still function. Time to pump up the vitamin C!ReplyDelete
You're exactly right..stocked up on juice and day quil. Now I'm all better!! Thanks Sheena!Delete
Hope you feel better, love!ReplyDelete
Modern Family is my favorite. I wish I knew a Phil Dunphy in real life.
Thanks so much Jess <3 Phil Dunphy = the best. Plus the actor went to Penn State!!Delete
I hope you feel better! I love forever 21 - best store for seeking out a great deal. So much of what I love in my wardrobe has come from that store!ReplyDelete
It really is the best. Some of my favorite older clothes are from there. Great stuff!Delete
I hope you are feeling better!!!! Quantico is so confusing, I love it, but there are so many possible solutions. Love sweaters and your outfits are cute.ReplyDelete
Thanks so much Heather! I am much better now. I thought you would be interested in Quantico! Some of it probably reminds you of being on the force, right?Delete
hope you are feeling better!ReplyDelete
i haven't watched scandal this season but i heard she ended up with the fitz guy. no thank you! jake for life. i'm glad i didn't watch it, i would have been so annoyed lol
Thank you Kristen! So glad you like Jake too...he is PERFECT (esp compared to Fitz. just ew)Delete
I'm sorry you're not feeling well :( I am so glad I have someone to 'talk' to about How to Get Away with Murder. I thought the seasons started off a litttle slow, but I LOVE it now. I enjoy the flashbacks too.ReplyDelete
As for Scandal...I thought the entire last season and the first few episodes of this season were just 'blah,' but I really loved the latest episode. It feels like the old Scandal is back! (I do agree that Jake is sweeter and more attractive. But I love me some Olivia/Fitz drama!)
