Top Five Friday #31

Hi everyone and TGIF!  Unfortunately, I'm a bit under the weather today, so all I want to do is stay in bed and finish watching season 1 of The Good Wife. I hope you don't mind a quick post today!  I hope you all have a great weekend!

Fashion

It's now officially "sweater weather" and I'm so excited to break them out!  Here are my favorite looks from the week:

Target sweater x Forever 21 jeans x Target flats x Madewell belt
JCrew Factory sweater x American Eagle jeans x Limited scarf
Gap Outlet sweater x Treasure and Bond jeans x Reebok sneakers

Shows

Scandal

The only good thing about being sick this week was being able to catch up on Scandal.  I haven't been following along this season, so I caught up and have been a little underwhelmed.  It feels like the same story line is playing over and over again so far- Olivia and Fitz are together, now they're not, now they are...when will it stop!?  Does anyone else think she would have been better off with Jake?  I think he's a lot better looking and sweeter too!

Modern Family

I used to be obsessed with this show, and haven't watched in a while.  I forgot how funny it is, and I'm happy to see that it's still just as clever as the first season!  My favorite part of the show is seeing all of the kids growing up as the seasons progress.  How cute is Gloria and Jay's son!?

Dancing With the Stars

I don't have the stats in front of me, but I think this may have been the highest scoring week ever!  So many 10's were given out, and I agree that it was a really great night of dance!  I thought that Alexa's dance was a lot better than the judges scores showed, and I wasn't too impressed with Bindi's dance this week.  "The lift" was really shaky and made me really nervous!!

Quantico

Still loving this show, even though even more questions are being added each episode!  It's still pretty unclear who we can trust, and who is really trying to help Alex.  I'm still not 100% sure if we can trust Alex either, or maybe this is all another simulation/final exam for Quantico?

How to Get Away With Murder

Last week's episode was crazy!!  All I have to say is that high school girls did not act like that when I was in school...thank goodness.  I love the format that the show uses with flashbacks and flash forwards, and now I can't wait to find out what's going on with Caleb and Michaela!

  4. OMG yes! I totally agree with your two main points on DWTS: Derek & Bindi = overscored, they didn't "nail the lift" like the judges said. It was painful to watch Derek's arms shaking the whole time! And yes, Alexa was better than they gave her credit for. I LOVE Olivia Newton John but she was pretty boring as a judge...except when Carlos danced! Her comment was hilarious. (And I may have re-watched that dance...just sayin.) Love seeing your cute work outfits. The black and white cardigan look = my fave.

  7. Agree 100% with the Scandal comments. I watch on Hulu so I'm always a few days behind. But, I can take it or leave it right now. I mostly just keep watching 'cause it's a nice way to relax at the end of a long day.

And as a throwback to your earlier post from this week. Been taking a break since my HM last weekend. Haven't run yet, and just made it to the gym twice this week for some lifting. I plan to run tomorrow, but sans watch, just until I'm not in the mood to run anymore. I think breaks like this are so important. Mentally & physically. Glad I'm not the only one.

    1. I watch on Hulu too! I agree that I could definitely leave it...I probably won't catch up until I have a full day of rest again. Definitely not horrible though..just not a "must watch" anymore. I'm happy to hear you're taking a break and listening to your body! Good for you :)

  8. I haven't watched Scandal this season yet... still all on my DVR. I'm starting to think that maybe they should've just quit already with it. Like Revenge... after a few seasons it just got tiring to watch. :/

  19. I'm sorry you're not feeling well :( I am so glad I have someone to 'talk' to about How to Get Away with Murder. I thought the seasons started off a litttle slow, but I LOVE it now. I enjoy the flashbacks too.

As for Scandal...I thought the entire last season and the first few episodes of this season were just 'blah,' but I really loved the latest episode. It feels like the old Scandal is back! (I do agree that Jake is sweeter and more attractive. But I love me some Olivia/Fitz drama!)
