Top Five Friday #75

Happy Veteran's Day!  I'm not alone in being forever grateful and indebted to all veterans and current people serving in the Armed Forces.  Today we salute you (and thank you for giving me a much appreciated day off).

I hope you all enjoy the day off if you have it, or have a great weekend.  I'll still be here posting to keep up with NaBoPoMo, so come visit!  For now, I'm happy to share some of my favorites from this week.

Sephora Sale Picks

Today starts the biggest sale offered at Sephora- the VIB 20% off sale!  If you have a VIB account you can save online or in store.  I love using this sale (and the fact that there are tons of holiday kits out) to stock up on products for the year.  Here are my picks for the sale:
Sephora comes out with some great makeup kits that are really high in value and let you try out a ton of products at once.  I'll be picking up the Lash Stash kit (like I do every year), but I would also recommend the Give Me Some Lip kit.
If you're more into hair products, there's a cheap-ish Spray Collection kit full of great products, as well as a kit from Drybar.
I always (and only at this time) buy perfume during this sale, and I'll be getting the Elizabeth and James kit, but I've previously gotten the Perfume Sampler which comes with a voucher for a full sized perfume.
There are also tons of great skin care sets.  There's a Sheet Mask set as well as a set by Glam Glow, the company that makes my favorite mask!

My Fitness Pal

A few weeks ago, I signed up for My Fitness Pal!  It's been really helpful for me to make sure I'm getting in enough calories and macronutrients.  It's easy as a vegan to miss key nutrients and not get enough protein, so this helps me make sure I hit my numbers every day.  I also realized which macros I was consistantly missing (IRON!) so I added a supplement to make up for it.  I already feel way better, and best of all it's free.

One Room Challenge

Twice a year, Calling It Home hosts the One Room Challenge.  This is open to the public as well as hand-picked featured bloggers that all take the challenge to completely make over a room in just six weeks.  The most recent one just ended on Wednesday, and I'm so inspired by the rooms.  The major theme was dark walls with lots of built-in storage and bright pops of colors.  Here are my two favorite rooms:

Talk about #bathroomgoals!  I absolutely love everything about this.

I think I'm a bit too old for bunk beds, but I love this little girls room.  You have to see the before and after..all of this was built during the project!

Alicia Keys- Here

Alicia Keys has always been one of my favorite artists.  Her songs are beautiful, and her voice is so unique.  It's not only incredible, but also so full of emotion.  She can really tell a story with each song!  I've been loving her as a coach on The Voice this year, and was so excited to see she released a new CD.  I love all of the songs, but my favorite is Work On It.  Such a good pickup on a bad day.

Do you have the day off?  Any plans?
What are you picking up at the Sephora sale?

  4. I think Veteran's Day should be a national holiday where everyone has off--its so weird to me that it's not!

    1. I completely agree. Even Dan, who works for the government, didn't have off!

  5. So many good Sephora picks-- I really wanted the smaller lip kit, but I think it sold out on the first day of the rouge sale! I love MFP even though I go through phases of using it regularly and then not at all, but it's really eye opening for what you might be getting too much of (or not enough)! I'm obsessed with that bathroom! So much swooning over those floors and all of the details.

  8. COOLEST bunkbeds ever! :)

And I'm so thankful more than ever for our veterans. We just watched a movie that was about a true event during the war; it really really shook me thinking about how these men and women sacrificed for freedom. I don't ever want to take it for granted.
